About the Hotel
Historic Venetian Building
Cretan Renaissance occupies a Venetian manor house on Kountourioti Coast, designated as a historical monument by the Ephorate of Byzantium Antiquities and UNESCO. The building dates to the Venetian domination of Crete and features architectural elements from that era. It offers panoramic views of Chania's Old Port, breakwater, and Venetian Lighthouse.
Literary-Themed Apartments
Four apartments are named after heroines from Cretan literature: Erophéle, Aretoúsa, Panórea, and Dolcétta. Each features soundproof walls, air conditioning, a kitchenette with refrigerator and tea/coffee maker, flat-screen TV with cable channels, and free Wi-Fi. Three rooms include hot tubs, and all have private bathrooms with Diptyque toiletries, hair dryers, and bathrobes.
Arismari Restaurant Cuisine
The hotel's family restaurant, Arismari, serves traditional Cretan cuisine using local ingredients. Meals focus on gourmet preparations of regional dishes. Wine and champagne are available for guests.
Central Old Town Location
The hotel is on the coastal front of Chania's Venetian Port, steps from the Maritime Museum and Firkas Fortress. The Archaeological Museum, Byzantine Collection, Municipal Art Gallery, and Municipal Market are within a 1 km radius. The Roman Catholic Church is 500 meters away.
Daily Housekeeping Services
Rooms receive daily cleaning with linen changes three times weekly and towel changes five times weekly. Services include iron and ironing board upon request, laundry (with additional charge), safety deposit boxes, and beach towel provision. Guest Ratings & Reviews
Wow, this hotel was absolutely amazing! The rooms are so unique like in the photos, and they even welcomed me with a bottle of fabulous white wine, cheese crackers, and chocolates. I was impressed by how well soundproofed the room was, allowing me to sleep peacefully without any street noise. The room was exceptionally clean, spacious, with a super comfy bed, and excellent A/C.
Oh, let me tell you about this hotel! The rooms are simply stunning inside with a lovely view of the harbour, and they even had a bottle of fabulous white wine, cheese crackers & chocolates waiting for us. The theme of the hotel adds to the charm, and the view of the old harbour is equally stunning. The service, although really nice and friendly, apologized for the discomfort and lack of sleep caused and offered some compensation voluntarily. The location is superb, almost adjacent to the museum, and the amenities are excellent. The dining experience, set in a very elegant hotel with a contemporary twist, was one of our favorites!
The spacious room and bathroom, along with the lovely harbor view and good kitchenette facilities, made my stay comfortable. However, the dining experience was a bit confusing as the restaurant seemed to be separate from the hotel.
